The process for this photoshoot was an unusual one for me. I've had this huge sun headboard lying around that I've been intending to hang up, but haven't actually gotten around to and I realized it would make a really cool prop. I'd already been playing around with the concept of "golden" for awhile, so I posted to my Instagram story asking if anybody was around to model for a weekend photoshoot in Athens. Shaelin messaged me and was immediately on board with my idea. We'd gone to the same high school, but she was a couple of years below me and just recently got into photography. We chatted about my ideas a little bit and picked a time for the shoot. I was hoping for a pretty sunrise, but the morning of the shoot we were met with clouds. I was pretty bummed about that, but instead of abandoning ship I decided to tweak my concept a bit. Rather than doing my golden shoot, I decided that the new concept would be "sunshine on a cloudy day." The contrast of the golden headboard with the gloomy sky was a really interesting one and although it wasn't the session I'd been planning for, I'm really happy with the way this shoot came out.
