If you're on TikTok (or any social media, honestly), you might've seen the "dark academia" aesthetic floating around. It's full of dark, neutral colors, classic architecture, and stacks of vintage books and other knick-knacks. Leah and I decided to draw inspiration from it for this shoot. We took inventory of both our closest and made an outfit that's partially thrifted (we'd actually found these pants while hunting for a different shoot in December), I dug around my basement for some books and props, and we headed to a beautiful church to use as a location. This shoot came smack dab in the middle of my creative drought, and I actually planned it even though I didn't 100% feel like it because I knew it would be good for me. Shooting with Leah is always nice. We've grown up together and she's been there since I first picked up my camera always willing to go along with my ideas, so it was nice and low pressure. I also think the photos turned out really pretty and we definitely nailed the dark academia aesthetic.
